Connection with Onyx.

Julia Rogers started taking her staff out on field trips to other coffee shops on the mainland. Periodically we would get beans or  locally made Chai. Julia made the introduction to Edwin, the owner of Onyx Importers, as she thought we might want to know who we were getting our beans from. He’s a gem. I started working with him in 2020 picking up beans from his home in Bellingham and started the dialog about coffee. I love the message that has been a thread through working not only with him but Julia also……and that is relationships. Creating relationships with the people that walk through the doors of Isabel’s Espresso and the farmers of the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala where his parents have a coffee farm. It’s about welcoming newcomers and strengthening old relationships.
